Auxiliary Buildings. The StarCiv had a number of different types of building, external to town and cities, that were not satellites. These include outposts and auxiliary buildings. Auxiliary buildings are sometimes refered to as 'oggs' - a shortened version of auxillaries. It is theorised that they were in some way connected to - and perhaps servicing - the canal, field and port systems. Perhaps some kind of pumping station to keep the canals flowing. As usual, these come in vast array of shapes and sizes, but all of them align with the StarCiv aesthetics. A video about Auxiliaries will shortly be available in the videos section.
